1/2 priced happiness at saint felix

sexy shoes.

fishnet legs that go on forever.

that can only mean one thing. time to go to saint felix in west hollywood for some cocktails. better yet, go between the hours of 4-8 when they have their happy hour.

during happy hour, all cocktails are half off. and if you enjoy fruity, jolly rancher hard candy tastes in liquid form, then might i suggest that you try their watermelon martini (happy hour price $6) which is a concoction of watermelon vodka with a watermelon mixer. you will even get a slice of watermelon drowning in it.

then perhaps your sexy self can move onto their firecracker cocktail (happy hour price $6), a blend of finlandia grapefruit vodka, lime juice, and then shaken with raw jalapenos. i asked for "mild" and can distinctly taste the jalapeno in it. it was intriguingly yummy and there was a certain kick to every sip.

and if you don't want an empty belly swishing with alcohol as you walk towards your parked car, you should probably partake in their $5 food offerings. unfortunately, there's not much to choose from on their happy hour menu if you're actually expecting to eat a whole lot while you drink. i decided on their kobe slider which had grilled onions on a brioche bun. CLEARLY, one comes to saint felix to drink and not to eat.

or you can just seat yourself in a cozy corner with your sexy shoes and fishnet stockings and drink the night away....till 8pm course. i'm sure you're not too sexy for a good happy hour deal.

drinking in the dark

The Griffin
511 Fremont St
Las Vegas, NV 89101
(702) 382-0577
www.thegriffinlounge.com/

price: $$
verdict: tasy, try it!

the griffin has a great medieval times/ dungeon and dragons-esque atmosphere. dark, brooding, with great music to boot. the crowd is also "down to earth" and looks more like a local watering hole for resident navadians as oppose to the "what happens in vegas, stays in vegas" crowd that you will get if you were drinking on the strip.

great bar for a night of drinking or socializing with your friends. OR make the griffin one of the stops during your bar crawl.

delicious green grasshoppers

verdict: omg, i love it!

(read the following review to the tune of bobby brown's "every little step")

i can't sleep at night, i toss and turn
dreamin' about the peppermill
but i get a crave so i'm all choked up
can't believe i need another fill
and as a matter of fact, it blows my mind
how delicious your dessert drinks can be
because the drinks you do is a dream come true
a real life fantasy

no matter where i am in vegas
i've found a great place to love
and we will be together, drinking grasshoppers forever
it's like that, it's like that

every little vegas trip i take
i will go there
every little vegas trip i make
i'll be at the peppermill yeah.....

the peppermill brings tacky-chic to a whole new level. first of all, don't tell me you don't love plastic foliage, red and blue neon lights, AND fire shooting out of the middle of a watery pit. i sure as hell can't get enough of this place and i don't say this because i'm intoxicated. i say this out of pure, on bended knees kind of love. try their "grasshopper," an alcoholic mint milk shake that flows smoothly through your straw, and i swear, YOU will be as smitten as i am. happy drinking folks! you won't regret it!

chillax with the best alcoholic milkshake in the world. yummy!

"why did i drink so much?!?!

i said this over and over in my head as i leaned over my sink in futile ATTEMPTS to barf out the alcoholic bile that sat uncomfortably in my belly. too many drinks and too much mixing of different types of fire water the night before. be gone you foul demons inside me! i had a hike planned that morning but all i could do was hover over my sink feeling shit faced from the night before.

thank you 4100 for my shitilicious experience. shit because i hate hangovers and feeling like i have to scrap my stomach for a brand new one....and delicious because of all the delicious drinks i consumed there (might i recommend a butterscotch martini and an amaretto sour to end your night on a sweet note....amongst MANY other things). great ambience as always and a cool place to chill and chat with your buds. super comfy booths to lounge in.

parking does suck, but if you live in the hood, just stumble home.

moraccan days

Hotel Figueroa
939 S Figueroa Street

verdict: omg, i love it!

the decor is moraccan and the vibe is totally chill. we hung out at the veranda bar and it's pretty spectacular when the sun goes down and you're sitting there with the lighted pool and moraccan styled lamps in comfortable darkness. it totally makes you forget that you're in the middle of downtown and there's a hustle and bustle of life waiting for you outside its doors.

i ordered a cheese burger while my friends ordered steak and fried chicken for dinner from their cafe (there are only 4 entree choices from their menu). we ate our dinner on their patio so we can enjoy some drinks from the bar. purely in regards to taste, the food was mediocre. the only reason to come to this place is to enjoy the ambience and the mojitos which was grand.

it's a hidden gem...a nice place to come to and hang when you have good company and find yourself thirsting for some moonshine in the middle of downtown.
