Fat Fish
616 N Robertson Blvd
West Hollywood, CA 90069
(310) 659-3882

price: $$
verdict: tasty, try it!

i have a friend that is the queen of all things "happy hora-ish." after raving about fat fish's lychee martini, the alcoholic mantra in my head began its obsessive chant, "must have lychee martini, must have lychee martini...." i was convinced that i must and that day finally arrived. yes!

first off, the lounge area is really cute and cozy. it's separated from the regular dining area, but the ambience is still great for casual gatherings. there are small tables for chillaxing, a bar for you to perch on, and a sofa area for bigger groups. might i recommend that you order the LYCHEE MARTINI as soon as you walk through the door?!?! time is of the essence so the sooner you order your drink, the MORE you will get to drink. seriously, it is pretty yummy and will surely haunt your tastebuds again.

when we were there, our group ordered three rolls; a spicy tuna, a philly roll, and the firecracker roll which is a super spicy roll with habanero dipping sauce. ouch! rolls with excessive things in it like cream cheese really turn me off. in that respect, i wasn't blown away by their rolls. we also ordered their fried calamari which had a hint of curry in it. interesting flavors, but nothing note worthy.

all in all, happy hour at fat fish is pretty phat for their fruity drink selection and prices. unfortunately, the drinks do require a bit of viagra though because they're not all that stiff. so if you're looking forward to getting smashed at happy hour prices, that's probably not going to happen here. what might happen though is a budding love affair with their lychee martini.
